In terms of exterior design, Volvo XC40 Recharge has a similar appearance to the XC40 version using an internal combustion engine but has received some design tweaks. Specifically, the grille of the XC40 Recharge is designed to be completely sealed, except for a small gap at the bottom. Part of the front bumper, the mirror cover and the ceiling are painted black to create contrasting accents.
Moving inside, the interior of the XC40 Recharge is identical to the regular XC40 version, including infotainment system based on Volvo's new Android operating system, supporting Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play Store. The name Recharge will continue to be used by Volvo for future electric and plug-in models. The Swedish automaker plans to launch one annually in the next five years.
