In terms of exterior design, Volvo XC40 Recharge has a similar appearance to the XC40 version using an internal combustion engine but has received some design tweaks. Specifically, the grille of the XC40 Recharge is designed to be completely sealed, except for a small gap at the bottom. Part of the front bumper, the mirror cover and the ceiling are painted black to create contrasting accents.


Moving inside, the interior of the XC40 Recharge is identical to the regular XC40 version, including infotainment system based on Volvo's new Android operating system, supporting Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play Store. Besides, all software in the car can be updated via network connection.

The name Recharge will continue to be used by Volvo for future electric and plug-in models. The Swedish automaker plans to launch one annually in the next five years. Volvo's goal is that electric vehicles will account for 50% of its global sales from 2025 and the remaining 50% are expected to be hybrids.

On the occasion of the launch of XC40 Recharge, Volvo also announced the promotion program of giving one year of free charging to plug-in hybrid models to stimulate users to switch to eco-friendly green models. school. This program applies to all Volvo PHEV models, including the Rookie XC40 Recharge. Customers using these models will record the total charge for a year and will then be reimbursed by Volvo based on the average electricity price.
